How to have a mindful work day
Mindfulness is the balancing component for stress but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be mindful at work. Here are my tips on how to have a mindful workday.
wake up earlier
You are being told that from everyone and everything but it actually helps a lot. If you wake up earlier you can take your time with your morning routine and do something calming for yourself before going to work. That can be more time for a good breakfast, a guided meditation or reading a chapter in a book you’re currently reading. If you need book inspiration you can check out my post about book recommendations.
Pomodoro technique
I talk about this quite a lot in my blog posts and that’s because it’s a very good technique to manage your time, not overwhelm yourself and actually concentrate on the work in front of you effectively. You work for 25 minutes and then take a 5 minute break. Do this at work and you will get through your tasks way faster. Every 4 cycles you should take a break that’s 10-20 minutes to give your body a break and walk around a bit or stretch.
Prioritize from hard to easy
We always wanna procrastinate the things that we dislike the most or find the hardest to do. Prioritize your tasks at work from hardest to easiest. You are less overwhelmed in the morning and more likely to ask for help if something is unclear to you. Ending the day with a short and easy task will also make you less tensed up and you don’t think about work as much. Having a system for your tasks could help you a lot if you’ve been struggling with this particular point. Using an app to organize my work tasks really helped my intuition to get more stable.
Journal at the end of the day
This is not a thing that’s just for adults. Journaling is super important to find out more about ourselves, our feelings and what we can do better. You should write down how you feel, what you think and what you wanna do every evening to get it off your mind. You gonna love to flip through a journal after it is filled up so much cause you will see a difference in how you think and what you did because you wrote it down. My favorite kinds of journals are the Leuchtturm 1917 dotted notebooks and I’ve personally been using them for years. They last up to a year depending how often and how much you journal.
organized work space
We tend to have work environments that are a bit messy (I’m looking at a stack of books, snacks and my camera right now). If your work space is organized you are less stressed out and can concentrate better. You will have less distraction and more time for your actual tasks. If you work digitally and there is no given organization system from an employer you should organize that too!

Hello – I wanted to tell you that the link that led me to you on Instagram was how to earn money as an introvert. No talking required. Although your site looks lovely it’s very disappointing when you click through and then the article isn’t really there. Is there such an article that you’ve written? Thanks so much.

Hello, I’m aware that there is such a post on Pinterest (not that there is one on Instagram) but I don’t have affiliation with it and didn’t make it. I don’t have a post with that exact topic, but I have a post about “How to make money on the side as a creative” HERE
